For the past 5 years or so, I visited periodic medical examinations once in 3 months. The other day I went to the general municipal hospital. I took the earliest appointment in the morning, and I proceeded to take the blood test and the urine examination.
My appointments were at 9 am, 9:30 am and 11 am at different departments. I asked the doctor who I was meeting at 9:30 am to add another appointment, and I also explained the reason. I did not care if it would be another day, but the doctor called a nurse and added the 10 am appointment on the same day.
The doctor who probably was around the mid-forties, laughed, looked at the computer screen, saying "jostling." That day I took examinations in four departments.
When you get to the seventies, hospitals become familiar places. I would not say it is a place of rest... When you make an appointment in one department, then the doctor of another department makes the next appointment on the same day, following the prior appointment. The computer screen also shows the medicine that I receive in a different department, and so I do not need to explain as in an individual clinic.
It is the same general hospital so it is a matter of course, but I always think all the hospitals should share the information. Young pregnant wives and patients for pediatrics should think it would be convenient.
The season is now midsummer. I hear such folk beliefs from various locations of Japan, saying "should eat eel", "do not do soil work", "dry books and clothes", "eat bean-paste rice dumpling" and so on. Most summer festivals gather around this season. It is the time you should take good care of your health. I convey my deepest gratitude for your kindness and I pray for your health.
